[ It's only a tad obvious that he's straining a bit and she shifts from one foot to the other with mild concern. Though he appears to be having little difficulties going up, so she places her worries elsewhere as he provides her a simple request. ]

Oh, yeah! No problem. I totally got you. [ She's quick to get to work considering she doesn't have much going on down here. ] And there we... Nope, I lied. [ Just give her a second... ]

[At this point he was cursing under his breath with the pure exhaustion of climbing so far. He leaned up against the trunk of the tree on a more solid looking branch and took a moment to catch his breath. He was definitely too old for this ]

I suspect I'll be up here for a while. This tree is higher than it looks.

[It was fine, he was going to make an attempt at climbing further. He dug his fingers into a nub and tried to balance himself on a branch a little higher up.

Unfortunately, his shoes were not made for this type of thing so he slipped, cursing loudly. Luckily he caught himself on the branch, hugging around the limb so he didn't fall to an early demise. Not so luckily, he was now dangling precariously.

It didn't, but that doesn't excuse anything. [ Huffing, a white cloud escapes her lips before she hands him the root. Probably a little too aggressively to symbolize her irritation but can you really blame her??

[Truthfully no one would blame Leanne for her absolutely justified response. Except Sanzo.

Sanzo is definitely blaming her. You can even see it in the sharp narrowing of his eyes and the way the little vein on the side of his forehead throbbed a little.]

[ THINGS ARE MOST DEFINITELY NOT OKAY!?!?!

Initially Leanne is confident with the other woman's decisions, even if she's gripping onto the side of the boat with such vigor that she may end up tearing a piece out of sheer anxiety. Eyes concentrating on the water and what she can visibly see, peering into the depths and ultimately flinching back in surprise when there's moments of light.

And then it stills.

Everything within those seconds becomes quiet, far too quiet, to the point that it makes her entire body physically ache. ]

Alisaie! [ She shouts again, yet this time panic courses through her and Leanne finds herself leaping--doing something foolish--into the water. She can't fuckin' swim but her boo needs her!?!?! HELLO!?!?!? ]

[ LEANNE PLEASE DON'T DROWN..

.. because a few seconds later alisaie is resurfacing, grinning in triumph, at least until she sees leanne flailing in the water.. leANNE PLEASE... ]

[ GOOD LORD.. alisaie is quick to snag her arm with the hand not full of rapier, to keep her afloat. cling to ur heroine. ]

[ She huffs. He's right, of course, and she can't argue against that, so rather than persist she decides to help with what she can. Rolling a piece of stray serpent towards her and examining it before noticing some scales she could easily pry off.

Carefully, of course, as she doesn't want the ruin them any further. ]

I just don't like the idea of taking the whole thing when we both worked for it. [ Said with a short tilt of her head. Her hand flinches back, gloved fingers having pricked against a sharp edge of the scale that earns a hiss of discomfort. ] See? That's my luck running out because you won't take your cut.

[ He squints at her, both because of the sudden injury and the interesting thread of her logic. He has a small pile of teeth beside him now, bloodstained but not cracked, likely perfectly serviceable for any vendor who might want them. ]

I will keep some teeth if that will satisfy you.

[ He reaches into the pouches at his waist, frowning as he pulls out a shimmering roll of bandages. ]

[ nO ONE WANTS TO KNOW

The Shaneiacs of El Nysa are shaking in their boots, all of a sudden it's becoming clear that this tale is becoming more (un)believable. Leanne feigns surprise, even horror, mouth wide and even taking a moment to glance around the immediate area to ensure she's not mistaking a bone with a stick.

Others follow suit. ]

I-I think... you... [ She points to some random ugh. ] You said earlier you found some bones, didn't you?

I didn't know!

[ LOUD GASP ]

You touched them! You're going to be next!

[ Cain clutches at his chest, fingers curling into his shirt as he loud gasps along with Leanne. It's true, he did find the bones! He did touch them! He's (not) cursed!

Cain lowers his head, like he's so overcome with the horror that he can't take it any longer.

And then he starts laughing. Low, sinister, the sound filling the skull's confines. ]

Ha ha... Ha ha ha ha! So you noticed. [ He looks up and holds his hand out, the fingers curved into claw shapes. ] And now I'm here among you, the wolf among the sheep! And as soon as I touch you, it'll be in you, too!

I should be thanking you, you did most of the work. [ But that doesn't mean she's going to brush off her thanks. Leanne soon nods with a light smile on her face. ] It's no problem, really, we girls gotta stick together.

[ And her lips curl into a brighter smile. ]

I'm Leanne, by the way! I was with the first group of people who, uh, woke up. I wouldn't say I know the absolute ends of this world but I've gotten a little more adjusted here over the past few months.

[leanne's kindness is keeping babydoll smiling, because it's true. girls do need to stick together -- it's how she survived the awful place where she came from.]

Babydoll, [she holds out her hand to shake leanne's, a rare formality.] I just got here. If you could tell me more about this place, I would really appreciate it.

[ Now she's just assuming things. But remaining ever so persistent Leanne reaches out and grabs the other by the arm, tugging her along. ]

[ From her perspective it all looks clear, the shadow quickly escaping from their boat. ]

I don't think so, but it doesn't look like it's wanting to put up a fight... probably thought we were easy pickings. [ She huffs, and she'd take actual offense if it wasn't clear that her confident offense drove the creature away. ] Though I definitely don't wanna sit and find out so it's better if we keep going.

[ The words may come easily for Misa, but to Leanne they're heavy on her chest and in turn makes her heart flutter with the generosity of it all. She would never say she had difficulties befriending others outside of Zephyr and Vashyron, but admittedly due to her upbringing it was hard to register those people as "close". Someone like Misa, however, who reminds her of just how much their life has changed due to the Storm, makes her realize just how far she's come and how she too appreciates the sudden change of events.

The girl clinging to her is important to her, a person whom she would have never even known existed in the past, and in their time together she'd never want to see her leave. ]

Me too. [ Said warmly. ]

And I want to be friend that you can depend on always, so if you're ever feeling lonely or just need a hand I'll be here... 'cause I love ya, y'know?

[ In a total girl friend way because they're het GROANS ]

After he takes his final bite she immediately withdraws her fingers, face completely flushed as her heart jumps from her chest and into her throat. ] You--! Ah, my...

[ Suddenly Asseylum wakes up to backhand Slaine for being unfaithful ]

Good! [ At least Leanne is blissfully unaware of the original princess and thinks that Slaine would never ever cheat in any universe. ] I'll stop teasing you now, I can tell that you're getting embarrassed by how red your face is.

And of course she's question the abilities of the mythical man named Santa, who of course is far from real but considering Yona's naive and pretty much like a baby in Leanne's perspective she's willing to play along. ]

He's got magic and sneaky little elves that watch you from afar.

[ Considering it's all in good fun, Leanne doesn't feel at all embarrassed about her actions or the fact that he seems to respond just as jokingly. And it seems her beaming joy doesn't falter even as the bar is set lower, grinning confidently. ]

For the record, I'm not a cheap date. So I hope you've got a fat wallet.

[ And she gives the bar a brief stare down before she starts leaning back. Quick to recognize that she wouldn't make it under she corrects herself, bending lower and tilting her chin back to successfully get under the bar. It's finished with a gasp and a bit of surprise, she's actually astonished to have made it. ]

[ And of course Leanne is oblivious to Giovanni's inner turmoil. Eyes closed, smile radiant, she waits for him to respond either verbally or by action, and it seems that he's chosen the latter as she soon feels his lips upon her cheek. Instantly her throat bubbles up with giggles and her heart feels entirely warm with joy as she reopens her eyes. ]

Ohhhh, don't be all grumpy. It's all in good fun! Or maybe you were wanting a real kiss? We can try that later... [ Teasing, unfortunately. ]

Anyway! I'm glad I finally found you. You still owe me a dance, remember?
