[ Unlike with Archer, Riza's feelings towards Leanne skew a little different. They'd also been friends, true, but roommates too, sharing experiences, memories, various opinions on everything from the food to the latest fashions.

With Leanne, her worry runs deeper, as does her bewilderment. But she tamps it all down, and sends out a simple message. ]

[ If it's safe to answer surely Leanne will, and if it's not...then Riza will just wait. ]

[ There's a lot running in her mind when the message arrives. Of course it coming from one of her roommates doesn't surprise her much, in fact if anything it brings a sense of security in knowing they're fine. ]

[ Obviously. ]

I did. [ Obviously. Even so. ] You never struck me as the type to willingly do such a thing.

I'm pretty sure this is coming from a guy I met at Shades Darker. He gave me a job saying that this carriage had weapons from Wyver that were going to be used against Olympia...

I guess he wasn't wrong, but I had no intention hurting innocent people. That's not me.

[ That much she's sure of. Everything else? ]

I asked Koralle about him, after he left that one night. She said she didn't know him very well but that he had influence, and that it was best to leave him alone.

[ Had those been true words? Had she merely been covering for him? It's hard to tell. ]

What happened, when you went to find the carriage?

Well the guy said he wanted heads, so...

[ She physically winces at that part. ]

Giovanni took care of that.
After that we took it to the South Outpost.

Was the South Outpost the original destination that man stated?

He said bring it back there and then his guys would take care of it, which they did.

I've done jobs similar to this before.

Did you really need the money here that much? I would have helped you find a way if you had needed it.

It wasn't really that I needed to money...
It's just something I'm adjusted to, so I didn't really think anything about it.
But you're absolutely right... I'm so sorry for getting dragged into this huge mess.

We'll find some way to get you out of it.

Do you have plans on what you'll do?

[regives]

I don't really have many options.

I either turn myself in or run.
And to be honest? There's too much about Olympia I don't know about to trust them completely. I mean they've already put out wanted posters and anyone hunting us down is free to use violence to bring us in,
and while I understand their hostility it makes me even more suspicious of just who these people are.

How can you know that any other place is any better? We don't have many options.

[ Not that any of Leanne's fears are unfounded or untrue, but they don't know what's out there yet. ]

I don't. But how can we say it's any worse? If it turns out to be a bad idea then that'll be my responsibility.
